Soft tech 2009
We turn to the streets again for getting the latest in terms of the Soft Tech style. As we all know, tech is for the future, and not just in gadgets, tech is for the fashion of the future as well. Shiny fabrics made of synthetic materials have always caught the fancy of the fashionistas. Get in vogue this autumn with the soft tech theme. Some tips:
1. Colours:
Metallic grey shades with robotic tinges are the dominant colors this fashion season. Put in some taupish beiges for effect and you should be ready to be part of the winter trend. Stick to pale tones and even if you feel like being flashy, keep it mellow.
2. Fabrics:
Yes, that’s right. You cannot expect the fabrics to be bold when the colors are so mellow, can you? Stick to plain woolens or plan suits if you plan to look formal. For the casual look, there are the polyester satins or smooth glossy leathers. If you can’t get along with plains, try to fit in some soft shaded checks, micro geometric patterns or easy going complimentary patters on your fabrics.
3. Style:
However you decide to dress, do not forget that element called technology. Dress urban with a spice of sport and plenty of technology. For the formal look, indulge in some mini blazers or chic urban suits kept casual. For the less formal wear, there are the cardigans and the sweaters.
If you are planning to look casual, the choices are wider. Try out skin tight lab coat style tops with ergonomic jeans and bottoms. Parkas are again great for the casual look which goes very well with the jeans. Smart slacks and futuristic gym style joggers are a great style statement this winter.
4. Accessories:
Make a statement with them large bags. Remember those masculine messenger bags? They are back in style this season. Top them up with some nice smoked shades. The theme is always tech. Put some art into the bland backpack or air bag and you are set for this autumn/winter. Driving gloves and pared down belts should complete your winter look this season.
5. Shoes:
Trainers with a touch of art and style should be your favorite walking companions this season. Ergonomically designed shoes and moon shoes should be the most sought after footwear. As for the casual look you can even get some bold slippers but again with some toned down colour. For the formal wearer, polished Oxford boots or even some suede leather could save the day.
The streets this season have been abuzz with technology. Everything is going mini and nano, from iPods to cars. And it seems well justified that fashion should follow suit. Soft tech is not just about mini dresses but it’s a complete theme, a way that you are supposed to be dressing. Bring out the geek in you as you take the world by storm this season with some appreciable tech in the clothing line.
